Seven Lokomotiv-Kuban players are on the expanded list of the national team

The main training camps of the national team will be held from February 15 to 20. The expanded list includes 31 players.

Earlier, from January 23 to January 28, a screening meeting for young players will take place, in which the Loko center Kirill Yelatontsev and the coach of the Russian U20 national team and the Lokomotiv-Kuban PBK Roman Semerninov will take part.

The final composition of the participants of the February gathering will be determined later. At the moment , there are seven players of the Krasnodar club in the preliminary list at once:

defenders – Zakhar Vedishchev, Vladislav Yemchenko and Alexander Shcherbenev;

forwards – Andrey Martyuk, Anton Kvitkovskikh and Egor Sychkov;

The center is Kirill Yelatontsev.

It is a great honor and tremendous experience for me to be part of the coaching staff of the national team. Working under Zoran Lukic helps to understand more quickly and clearly the requirements that are put forward to the young players of the nearest reserve from the U20. I am very happy for our young players, the students of the club who are included in the list. But at the same time, they should understand that this is only an advance payment so far. A place in the final list of the national team can only be earned by hard work. Nevertheless, it is pleasant in itself to see the pupils of the reserve club system in the preliminary list. The management of the PBK "Lokomotiv-Kuban" has chosen a strategy for training its own pupils for the main team and the national team. The inclusion of 6 players from our pyramid at once – all except the Kvitkov ones – is a confirmation of high-quality work in this direction.

After the completion of the main training camp on February 20, the Russian men’s national team plans to go to Serbia, where it will hold two friendly matches: on February 21 – with Mega, and on the 23rd – with FMP.
