The Friends Charity Match opened the VTB Youth League Final Four

Today the Final Four of the VTB United Youth League starts at the Lokomotiv-Kuban Sports Center.

Lokomotiv-Kuban-2 will play against Khimki-2 from Moscow Region who won the bronze medal last season. The opponents met four times in the regular season, earning two wins each. The second pair were Moscow’s “IBA-2” and “Zenit-M” from St. Petersburg.

Before the start of the official competition, a charity Friends Match was held on the main arena of the Youth Training Center. Famous athletes, public figures and journalists took part in it. After the match they gladly shared their impressions.

Great atmosphere, great game. Many worked very hard to prove themselves. I think, we can easily call 6 players from these squads for the national team training camp (laughs). It was really good - the match was friendly, but we had a good game.

8 points per game, considering I'm 7 years and 20 kilos in the sport, it was a great result! The hardest part is not just running and scoring, but also getting your stomach in. But seriously, the atmosphere is great. I've had basketball in my heart since I was a kid. It's great to be on the same court with the masters of sports, with those guys who have such achievements under their belt, as, for example, Euroleague victories.

The atmosphere at the game was friendly, everyone knew each other for many years, so we played at ease at the beginning. But even in such matches, the desire to win begins to show, to be better in every component.

It turns out that I got used to the sports atmosphere even before the official matches. Now we need to catch our breath and get ready for the semifinals of the Final Four. The atmosphere is amazing, and the hall is great. I walked a little bit around the complex. It was the best in Russia. The level of the auditorium is really good and I could feel it.

I'm just happy to take part in such a game. And in such a complex! It's the dream of every basketball player to be here. I wish all the coaches and players, match organizers, referees and umpires a great mood, a positive attitude, success in business and to win in all endeavors.

The game became a platform for the charity event “Champions for Children”. The Rucheek Center was awarded a certificate for purchasing equipment for adaptive physical education and sports.
