Interview

Patrick Miller: “I think I fit in this league”

In his first game for Loko (victory 90:82 over UNICS), the American point guard played 18 minutes, scored 9 points and made 6 assists. We asked Patrick of his impressions on his debut.
– What can you say about the game?
– The game was high-level, two good teams. I enjoyed it. I’m a defensive fan. If is it such intensity in this league, then I’m going to have a good time here. I think I fit here. How have I played? Good! You know, after the flyover, just one practice. Once I get comfortable, it will be better.
– You rarely see that a player who just arrived plays 18 minutes. Are you okay with this?
– You know, I’m playing for 10 years. So, I’m happy how my body responded to playing those minutes. It was a high-level game, and I wanted to help my team. And I’m glad that we won.
– Your first game for Loko happened to be against the champion, the next one is against another leader, CSKA. What do you expect of this game?
– Well, another high-level game with a lot of defense. I’m kinda happy that I’m coming at the time of such important games. Playing these teams in a row I gotta see what the competition is about. It’s gonna pay off in the playoffs. So, I’m looking forward to play against CSKA.
– How did you like the Krasnodar crowd?
– I knew some things about the crowd because I’ve played here before, you know, in Eurocup. In circumstances that’ve happened, I’m glad that so much people were able to come and support us. I enjoyed the crowd today. And looking forward to the next home games.
