Dmitry Kulagin new captain of Loko

Lokomotiv Kuban guard Dmitry Kulagin is the new captain of the team in the 2017/2018 season. Loko's new player Vitaly Fridzon became the vice captain.

Dmitry Kulagin joined Loko in the 2017/2018 season. In winter, Dima helped Lokomotiv Kuban win the Russian Cup and was awarded MVP of the Final Four and the final game.

Playing for Loko, Kulagin reached the finals of EuroCup and got into the second Top-5 of the championship, averaging 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists per 18 minutes.

In the VTB United League, Dima averaged 10.7 points and 3.3 assists and became the Best Defensive Player of the season.

In May 2008, Kulagin signed a 4-year contract with Loko.

Andrei Vedishchev, President of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban

Dima Kulagin was predictably appointed the captain of the team. He has leadership skills and clout in the team. On the one hand, he is young. On the other hand, he is quite experienced. Our choice means that we believe in Dima’s potential not only as a player on the court but also as a person outside the court. I’m sure he will unite the team and lead it to our set goals.

To be honest, being the captain is a heavy responsibility for me. I know that it’s going to be hard. Of course it’s a challenge for me. To be the top in everything: on the offensive end, in the locker room, to set the example. I won’t hesitate to ask for the coach’s or older players’ advice and pay heed to it. And of course I hope for support of our big Lokofamily!
