Hadzibegovic stays in Loko!

Lokomotiv Kuban PBC and Alen Hadzibegovic have extended their contract until the end of the 2027/28 season.

During the 2025/26 season, Hadzibegovic joined Lokomotiv from Avtodor Saratov and quickly became a key part of our team. His statistics for Lokomotiv Kuban were: 9.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 20 minutes of playing on average.

When Alen joined us midway through last season, he immediately showed his potential to become a key element of our tactical setup. He's already a mature, useful, and well-coached player, and he has enormous potential for further growth. We're delighted that Alen will be with us for the next two seasons.

After signing the contract, Hadzibegovic answered questions from the club’s press service.

How long did it take for you to accept the contract extension from Loko?
It didn't take long. We’ve started negotiations since I got there. So I think around one month.
How comfortable for you is to work with Tomislav Tomović?
It was comfortable from the very beginning, especially that we speak the same language, so it's much easier to understand each other. And I think we proved it with the bronze medal.
Few people believed that Loko would return from 0-2 against Zenit and win bronze medals. What made it possible?
A lot of people didn’t believe, but the most important thing was that the players did and all management, staff, coaches, we all did believe. And we just stayed focused, especially after we took it for game 5. After that there was no way we were going to lose the game. So everybody knew what to do and we just made it happen.
What were your first thoughts when Game 5 of the bronze series ended?
Honestly, my first thoughts were just to go home and see my family and then rest a little bit. But yeah, I was happy that just after a half of my season with Loko we made some history. And I hope it's going to continue like that in the next two years.
How do you like the Friendship Cup with the fans? Did you take part in something like this before?
It was fun! Actually I’ve never played that kind of game before, so I really enjoyed it and I think the fans did too.
What are your plans for summer vacation? When will you be back in Krasnodar?
I have a national team camp from June 23rd until July 6th of July, after that I will probably rest for a couple of days and then start preparations for next season. I will be back in Krasnodar probably at the beginning of August.
Do you already have some favorite places in Krasnodar?
I do. Mostly, it’s restaurants.
