Welcome, Jovan!

The coaching staff of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC has been joined by assistant coach for physical training Jovan Buha.

Jovan was born in Belgrade in 1977. He received a PhD in Physical Education and Sports at the University of Belgrade with a degree in kinesiology and is currently working on a dissertation in sports biomechanics.

Over the course of his career, the Serbian specialist has worked in a wide variety of sports: with the Serbian Alpine Ski Federation, with candidates for the Chinese Olympic canoe slalom team, and also coached tennis player Ana Jovanović for the 2009 Fed Cup.

But the majority of Jovan’s professional career has been spent in basketball. He worked with the Serbian youth and junior national teams, the Qatar national team, and spent five seasons with Bayern Munich and one with the Chicago Bulls.

Buha joins Lokomotiv Kuban from the Chinese club Zhejiang Golden Bulls. In 2023, he and his team won bronze at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.

Buha is a renowned specialist in Serbia who has worked all over the world and delivered high-quality results. It's important to us that he uses the most up-to-date methods and is always ready to learn new things. I'm confident that Jovan's knowledge and skills will help us achieve the highest goals.

I'm gald to become a part of Lokofamily! I visited Krasnodar in 2014, with Bayern for a EuroCup game. I remember thinking, "What a nice place, I could live here." And here we are. I know I'm joining an organization with high standards and a focus on achieving the best possible results. I love working on these kinds of projects. I'm looking forward to meeting my new colleagues, the players, and, of course, the Loko fans—people who know how to create a truly exciting basketball atmosphere.
